You need about 20 minutes from the station (if you don't get lost), either walking or taking the subway.
The easiest is to take a subway train (line U11 or U17) from the train station and get off after three stops at the stop "Universität Essen". Then follow the signs for the university (or the students) to reach the main campus.
Another option is to take one of lines U11, U17, or U18 to the stop "Berliner Platz". Then, leave the train station using "Exit E" and follow the route indicated here: Google maps. Once you passed through the blue university building, you will have arrived on the main campus.
The lecture hall is in the red building, which also houses the library. Once you entered this building from the main campus, turn right, and the lecture hall will be the second one on the right.
Tickets can be bought at ticket machines in every underground station and at every tram stop, or in the EVAG centers in the underground station of the central train station. We recommend buying a "9-Euro-Ticket" that will allow you to use all local and regional public transport throughout Germany in the month of June.
